No, the biggest thing they have over us is traction.

plus their ease in making more power. i haven't run into many stock wrx's, so comparing "stock" times is somewhat pointless.
it comes down to run what'cha brung, and hope you brung enough.
don't count on it being a stock setup, to sit there and say you would beat it. their car has just as much of a chance, if not better, to be modified as yours.

Ive taken a bunch of mustangs, civics, a turbo integra that sounded like it was ready to blow up when I was next to it, a 240sx with an non-turbo sr20 in it, a cavalier with a 75 shot of nos, an rx-8 and a 90's awd celica with a mr2 engine in in it... I suppose the list will go on by the time next year rolls around and summer comes back.

I have a 92 GS K8 170k with CAI, CEx, Ignition, Lightened (100lbs), S-Shifter.
My friend has a Civic Si with a worn clutch but still, i beat him by 2 car lengths.
I've beaten another friend with his sport Neon (CAI).
A few mustangs
A few cavaliers
Lost to a tuned Integra
to a tuned RSX
Alot of newly tuned Miata's

btw, I have one of those JSPEC short shifters on ebay, is it true that they can screw up the car, I see most everyone has a B&M shifter, any reviews on the JSPEC one?

But I left his A$$ for $H!T right off the line. It was so worth it though seeing the look on his face after got HIS A$$ handed to him by a 13 year old car...Other than that I've beaten 97- Grand AMs some civics, CRX Si oh and my fave is where my ex-gf scared the hell outa me when she left a 04 SVT Cobra @ 120+ MPH on the freeway....he left us and then she was like I'll show him...and I guess she did....man I miss her.

Actually the V8 swap kits arn't that expensive, the one for my Z car swap is only $275. The kit changes all your mounts, new cross member, a step-by-step Guide, and a new speedo cable. I bought my Vett motor for $200, a Z car for $200( around the same price as a first gen RX7 with bad motor), and all my add ones will come later. The total cost to include the 1980 Z will only be $2,000, with 400+hp. Witch is a lot cheaper than the 20B Jspec motor intallded by about a grand.
Check out
http://www.customconversion.com/ (for z cars)
V8 conversoins arn't that hard, or expensive for older RWD imports, but it could depending on how far you want to go.

I've ran a WRX's, EVO's, Civic's with H22's, Probes turbo with v-6, RSX Supercharged, Other MX-3's, Mustangs V6 & V8, and beat them all EVO stayed with me at my back door got it on video awsome run. I'm running a KL-ZE with Nitrous 75 shot dry & been running strong for 2 years. stock internals, MS8 intake manifold, 6puck race clutch, 9lb flywheel, with light weight crank pulley, timing advanced just a little. Had it on a dyno and put 240ft lbs of torque. I beat out my buddy's Supercharged RSX-S by almost 45 ftlbs.

Are you sure they werent V6 Stangs with the V8 emblems or dual exhaust?

i dont think you read what i wrote, i said any turbo charged rotary is capable of as much torque and power as a v8. (im not talking drag strip here)
just turn up the boost a little.
