Keep us posted guys...I may have to try out a new combo here for shits and giggles.

Good thread.

I think I might just get a KL02 from a junkyard and test it with my probinator. If it's not good then I'll just return it.

Tried it...sucked...took it back.

joke or not it was funny.

No joke. I did exactly what Mad Cow said he was going to do. It was not a successful trial.

Really? That's weird. :? But I'm stubborn so I'll try it anyway.

i have no idea why mine seemed to like it more. i did however swap them when i have the k8 TB on, so maybe i'll go out and try the JE50 back on the ze and see what it does. i don't know how we are getting varying results...

mine is a straight neck ZE, but that shouldn't make much of a difference because so is wytbishop

edit: i just tryed the JE50 out. i noticed that is was pretty close to the KL02 for the bottom end, but the KL02 preforms better than the JE50 in the top end. i went to go and swap the JE50 out for the KL02 in a parking lot and then it started to die and sputter, did not want to work and became a big crap pile.
on a side note, odd one too. With the KL02 i get a regular amount of valve noise(or something along those lines anyway) especially at idle. but when i switched it over to the JE50, all of that vanished. :confused2:

grab the ecu that goes with it while you are at it trying things

I also tried the kl02 today with no success.

The problem is the car idles too low so it runs bad. If you rev it, it sounds perfect, and I didn't see any black smoke out the back. I tried adjusting the idle/timing to no avail, so I can only conclude that it won't work w/ a probinator for an MX3.

I am still debating whether or not to get a coder and play with the values, or if I should buy a different ecu...if I go this option though, I will have to get another probinator chip to remove the EGR codes and rev limit and speed limiter, etc.

You guys simply can't go an label the KL02 as crap if you are not using a MX6 ecu or an ECU that is chipped/meant to go with it.

It will idle low, stall etc. With the correct ECU it will have no problem.

The probinator chip is probably set up for the JE50 - if you guys told Probinator you had an MX-3 he would most likely set it up for the JE50 IMO.

That was my only point...to see if it worked with the JE50 as people were wondering. I will try it with an MX-6/Probe GT ECU as well.

Yeah rx8, we know that - lol, we're not stupid.

One cannot be told that KL02 VAF doesn't work with JE50 Probinator - it is something you have to see for yourself.

Well, this is the reason, if you read the Probinator's (cardomain) site, it lists this:
Eliminate the need of a JE-50 VAF
Yes, typically, you need a KL02 VAF with a KLDE ECU (apparently the KL02 runs good on a K8 ECU too), but after reading that, you'd think that you could use a JE50 VAF or a KL02 VAF without any difference.

But that seems impossible because they give different readings from what I know, so that means it'll need 2 fuel tables and be able to differentiate between JE50 and KL02.

EDIT: Just a random thought, what if the K8 ECU is different from the KL01 hardware-wise? I'm pretty sure the probinator wasn't tested in a K8 ECU, so that might be the problem. Does anyone have a probinator chipped KL ECU?
