(facepalm) You cannot put a K8 head on a KL block... different bore.

Every K had a KL dipstick. Completely normal. Other random parts in your car will be stamped KL01, and some random parts in a DE are stamped K8...

Actually the dipsticks from my K8 and my KLZE were different. The KL dipstick actually sat a little further down into the oil pan, I could look at the number on the dipstick thats in it now, but the other is tossed.
93 mx-3 GS (KLZE w/kl01 cams, XTD stage 3 clutch, Outlaw intake/throttle body spacers, throttle body coolant delete, headers, full 2.5" exhaust w/resonator and 40 series flowmaster, filled engine mounts)

Believe him or not this is true IIRC. I compared my busted KLZE one to my good k8 one and the k8 one was longer, but the full line was in the same place if you lined the top part up with each other, so in the end it was still accurate.

I think the easiest way to tell if it was a ZE or k8 was go to 0-60 as fast as you can.. if it's above 8 seconds then its a k8 hahaa
