ive never seen a probinator EPROM that runs off a JE50 VAF, if someone has one any chance they can take a dump for me?

I already took a dump today, maybe someone else can help.

Pretty much everyone here runs a JE50/Probinator combo.

I have been thinking about getting a cheap eprom programmer and fiddling with some values, but I don't have a wideband yet so I don't know how much good this would do.

wouldn't risk it dude, not without at least a datalogger of somesort, even a megasquirt just inputting data. It would be very trial and error without it, the error bit being a big concern!

Whisper wrote:No, not KL01. It's a 95 ECU. Don't remember the exact number, but I think it's something like KL86 or 85 or some such. I'll check later, it's in the car.
did you get a chance to see what the name of the ECU is? isn't that an OBD2 ECU if it's a 95?

Yeah, it's KL85. I listed it in the post with the graph pics.

Apparently it's OBDI.

What year is your car? Would an OBD2 ECU even plug into an OBD1 harness?

94. Yeah, I thought OBDII was a 4 plug. I even asked Steve, and he said the ECU is OBDI.

i tried my kl02 today after reading the first page of the posts this afternoon and probinator chip with my kl02 ran like crap, runs much better with my je50.

i bought a kl31 chip off mad cow but i dont want to do the soldering so a friend of mine who is a ex circuit board technician said he will do it for me. hes away for a few weeks and i really am burning a hole in my pocket the way it goes now.

i think tomorrow i am going to the junkyard and pulling a de ecu and vaf from one of the probes they have there. i dont even care about the EGR codes fukc em.

Did you reset the ECU when you swapped VAFs?

at first i didn't but after a quick run around the block i reset the ecu and it still the same.

i just picked up a kl01 ecu and kl02 vaf from a probe tonight, once i get my kl31 chip soldered into my spare k834 ecu ill have both vaf's and ecu's and will be able to do some experimenting.

Sounds good.

Speaking from my own experience, I have used Stoker100's chip with a JE50 and it seems fairly rich and not too happy up high.

Used a stock MX6 ECU and KL02 VAF and had no real loss of power, maybe a little down low, but it felt better up high.

Maybe the JE50 just sucks? Dunno, but stoker100 has given me another chip to try that runs off the KL02. I will try it once I get my engine back in my car lol.
