ehh...I think your missing the question...you say you have a triangular flange, well did you bend the end of the pipe to look like a triangle and then weld it to the flange? Or did you buy the entire flange/pipe and just weld the round part of the pipe onto your existing piping? I think i said that clearly...Originally posted by rebel2k4:
Ahh okay I see. that is a standard 4 bolt rectangle T3 flange. My turbo has the 3 bolt triangular Grand national flange, I just picked one up from an exhaust shop and welded it on.No pipe bending necessary.Originally posted by mx3man83:
.....
See the rectangular flange? On your turbo, did you just manipulate the end of the pipe to weld onto the flange?

A picture says a thousand words...

see the inlet flange? It's the grand national style, not your standard t3 rectangle.

Heres a pic of the painted and wrapped pipes, along with my flex section. Looks a little better eh?
I've been running them for a week now and the paint is holding up great.

Hell yeah man thats a very nice intercooler!
I am relocating my battery and making some new charge pipes this week. I bought all silicone couplings and transition pieces. Should turn out nice.
I am also looking to find a WRX hood scoop. I am going to install it and have my hood resprayed so it looks nice and clean.

Re: My turbo V6 almost done, pics
HEY, you ever thought about mounting the IC on the top of the engine? Like they do to the WRX. Get a hood scoop and cut a hole.. BANG, Nice *** IC setup.
Heh, just a thought.![Welder :welder:](./images/smilies/welder.gif)

Re: My turbo V6 almost done, pics
At the moment the car died. I think its a disty prob, no spark. Been diagnosing it for awhile now and thats pretty much my conclusion. Car hasnt ran in about a month.Originally posted by goldy1:

There was one new pic of the new charge pipe I made. I started a thread and I think its on this page or #2 of this forum.
CO springs is about 3 hrs from me however I would consider taking a stop by there if I have it running by then and give you a ride in it and whatnot. hit me up on PM when the time comes near.
I doubt a top mount IC would fit. might be able to make it work but currently the car doesnt run so my focuses are shifted. I dont think Ill ever go through with it and intercool it. I have another builder car in mind, another 1st gen MX6 or probe GT

Re: My turbo V6 almost done, pics
awsome work man...love seeing this get done.
a top mount ic might work a lil better than a fmic. 1-hoods are easy to modify 2-i am looking at how your piping is ran already, i can see many many tight fits and possibly more holes being made to make it work and long piping. the top mount might give you a little bit of shorter piping and mounting it shouldnt be too difficult.
again, mad props, and good luck with gettin the problem fixed.
