You got your plug wires in the correct firing order? Did you hook up the small ground near the fuel rail on the passenger side of engine?

and as for the ground are you talking about the one mine is a bit more to the back of the engine close to the vris. is this a body or engine ground?

Engine ground coming out of the harness. I think it maybe a ground for the fuel injectors or distributor, can't remember. My car is 20 miles away at my father in-laws garage, otherwise I would look into deeper and take a picture.

its grounded on the engine. its turning fine so I dont thinks its a ground problem.

Just trying to get some info here. I see you have the timing belt covers off, why? Also do you have HEI mod? Having fuel and spark is good so its probably something simple you are overlooking. Do you have oil cap on tight, dip stick in tight and air intake on? Did you cap off that vacuum port on the backside of intake manifold?

just always had them off.. its cut on the bottom so I have my timing mark. yes I have HEI mod
and yes the vaccum is capped off... but would a vaccum leek cause a no start or would it just run like s---?

Absolutely, yes it will cause a no start. These motors are very sensitive when it comes to vacuum leaks. Double check all vacuum lines and hoses, pcv hoses and maybe listen for any leaks while turning over engine. You could try spraying some carb cleaner or WD40 around vacuum areas to see if engine may speed up or try to fire. Another thing is it may even have something to do with the way you have your pcv valve hooked up. I would hook your brake booster up on the backside port you capped off (may need loger hose as I did), plug your pcv valve in where your brake booster is plugged in now and then keep the hose from your cold air intake plugged in where it is.

end up being a bad tensionner that caused my belt to jump! changed the tensioner and put every thing back in place! it started on first time and ran just fine!

Gotta love having a non-interferance engines...

Same thing happened to mine last fall.
