Weird how the ice is melting, they're complaining about the ice shelves breaking off...yet we're on the brink of an ice age.

thats because the earth is doing what is called the ice cube effect, the earth is going to get so hot that all the water will be on the verge of boiling, then all of a sudden its going to freeze. The earth has to do this so that the earth will freeze faster, because we all know hot water freezes faster than cold, gah haven't you made Ice cubes before! <lots of sarcasm in that statement lol

This post was to address the Tree loving hippies who think that global warming is being caused sby humans and to those who fail to acknowledge that the earths climate will change on its own (how they can not see that is beyond me). Yes humans play a part in this role, but still a smaller role than some lead us to believe. I'm not saying we don't need to make a change, but all this BS I see on the news now is just hilarious. I wish I could be around when the sun gets hotter (which it will), and see what they blame it on this time. What? no its not that the sun is getting hotter, our home HVAC systems are heating up the earth because we are heating our houses, the hot air escapes and heats up the earth!
Sorry man but to equate the life cycle of a star which is pretty well understood, with the inexplicable changes in the Earth's climate, and ecosystems is really rediculous.
That was the point of the statement, glad you noticed lol. Its just as ridiculous as people stating global warming is man made. Scientists only really have what about 150 years of actual readings, you can't make an accurate reading based of 150 years of information. 150 years of info doesn't even = close to 1% of the earths actual age (based off the secular age of the earth of about 4.5 billion year) so we have 150 years of info which just so happens to be around the time the humans started introducing more co2 because of the industrial revolution. So based off this data, we make more assumptions based of charts, computer read outs, etc., that the earths climate change has greatly been affected by man. Lets forget the fact that we've taken samples from the earth that show that in the past the earth was worst off than it currently is. Lets ignore that the poles are currently shifting, because they are about 1 degree every decade, lol cause that obviously doesn't have anything to do with the fact that the earth is changing.

Personally, I think all of your are thinking about this wrong. You're looking at it from a human perspective.

The world is millions, maybe billions of years old. Seasons are more like heartbeats, and years like breaths, decades are secconds. 150 years is nothing compared to the big picture.

The temperaures rise and fall, thats normal. Levels of every gas and all types of radiation change all the time. These changes happen over hundreds or thousands or millions of years.

But like wytbishop said, we are an unaccounted for stimulus, like a virus in the system.

And for the ammount we've grown in such a miniscule time frame, we're like a superbug.

Imagine being in slow motion, and having someone in fast motion lay into you. It doesn't take long on your end to feel effects, even if the guy on the other end got tired went out for coffee already.

The earth is a beautiful system. If you don't think so, you are wrong. BBC made a series called 'Planet Earth' I suggest to every one of you to look into it.

Abrupt climate change is a proven fact not a theory. Whether from ice core sample in Russia or where ever, the accepted belief is 100 to 120,000 years of ice age conditions to about 10,000 warm years. We're at 14,000 years of warm right now so we're kinda on borrowed time as it is. What global warming is doing is not so much a noticeable warming as much as unpredictable and more severe weather conditions. This is evident with the increase in the number and strength of hurricanes as the ocean warms. Someone mentioned the ozone layer earlier here. The gases that destroy the ozone are much worse than CO when it comes to global warming potential. Luckily we've got those under control now for the most part and the ozone layer is healing itself. You can Google and find a study that broke the earths capacity to heal itself compared to our consumption of its resources. Right now in North America every person on average is using up 1.5 days of resources per day. So as you can see the earth’s ability to keep up with the demand put on it by us is in the negative. Not good. Consumerism is destroying our planet. My pet peeve is all the unnecessary packaging of products. Anyone bought a Brat doll for their kids lately, Ridiculous.

Like Ryan said, we've only been keeping track for the last 100-150 years...so we really know how bad the storms were before that? It's easy to blame us when the pattens showing how thing are getting worse, but only since we've had the technology to not only contribute in a netagive way, but also at the same time, we've had the technology to test and monitor these things. Is it coincidence or is it , I bet you we don't really know, but of course the politicians and scientists like to use stats that are beneficial to them for whatever results they would like.

If what we're doing good for the planet, of course not, but like Mnemonic said, it's not as bad as they're trying to make it believe.

Its true, we have no idea what exactly is going to happen. Lots of people think Christ is coming before the apocalypse, lots thing nothing unusual is happening, lots think we're destroying the planet and the climates will reverse and we'll all die.

Who really freaking knows. Scientists explain a lot of things, but weather is something they're NEVER mastered. I don't bother checking the forecast, its always wrong anyway.

I've heard so much, its impossible to say whats true anymore. I've heard there has been a significant difference in CO2 levels in the past 100 years, like double or triple, and others say there is no change at all. So many different people talking like they know it all, to really know whats ACTUALLY going on. Everyone is biased. Its rediculous. Although I'd rather believe that we're damaging the planet than not, because I can definately understand who(corperations) want to keep it quiet, and why (money).
