It's not hard at all to take off, I removed mine last week and made some holes for my washer nozzles.

Whatever you do, don't paint it some gay color. Black. That's it. IF you go to an auto body supply store, they will usually have a spray paint especially for black exterior trim pieces. I know SEM makes a paint specifically for it.

Going Black 8) Just want it to look good cuz right know it looks like crap its so faded its not even funny. :(

If it's just faded, I'd try some rubbing compound and elbow grease first. Then you don't need to worry about removal and masking and crap. Rubbing compound refreshed all my window molding.

Okay, got out and washed her and grabbed a couple pics of the cowl for you.

Just cleaned, primed, and painted a semi-gloss black.
