well thanks for that it gives me a little of an idea. Yesterday I was at the mall and found a focus in the parking lot with an empty spot next to it so I parked next to it so I could see how much of a difference it looks like and I think it may be able to work as long as I shave the housing down. would you suggest fibreglass for the patch work?

A little OT maybe but... anybody think that the new Golf headlights are very similar to ours?

I keep looking at them since they came out... pretty the same imho.

Are you talking about Golf V or IV? If V, then we have not seen it here yet. May be post a picture or a link of what you have in mind.
