CAME TO UBB today and ANTI-VIRUS WENT NUTS!!!

Post by Spydie »

Jeff perhaps you could investigate this. I came to the ubb today and as soon as the UBB main page loaded up my anti-virus went berzerk. I had 3 trojanhorse back-door viruses. So I ran my anti virus to get rid of them. I kept reading on the UBB and sure enough my anti-virus alert started going off again. not sure if they're coming from here but you might wanna check it out.

just a follow up....as I stay on the UBB the alerts keep coming....when I leave they stop.

I myself get my antivirus updated as soon as they come out from my works network security, and I dont seem to have that problem. Maybe you already have one and your PC is loading files needed for your browser that may already be infected. Some virus' attack files such as GIF, JPEG, ect. The temp inet files store these and they may be becomming infected.

okay the alerts have stopped.
I had 3 trojan horses....(basically harmless but still) when my anti-virus scans (AVG) it automatically heals and moves infected files to the virus vault. For whatever reason only 2 of the 3 went to the vault automatically, while the 3rd was still on the system and had to be deleted manually. So it appeared like I was repeatedly getting new alerts after running a scan it was actually detecting the same one over and over until I removed it myself. As the UBB pages loaded whatever program is used to display them ran the virus and the alert was triggered.
problem solved.
