I JUST GOT MY CAR IMPOUNDED

i was following an astra gsi accelerating hard but not braking the speed limit well not excessively!
a cop car pulls us both... reports us on summons and gets our cars towed away under new uk legislation!
so i had to see my pride and joy get towed away on a tow truck!
now i'm gonna get 6 points on my license and i probably won't get insurance<p>i hate the pigs!!!!

Thats bad news. Heard about the new laws but was never sure if the police would use them or not. Think the laws are a bit strict. All it seems the UK poice want to do is nick the motorist. The other day i saw a speed camera dectector van parked next to a fixed speed camera and 3 police cars. A slight case of overkill if you ask me.

Ouchy, so what are the new laws? You get caught speeding and your car gets towed??

the new law states quite alot really >>>
the main jist of it is that if you are seen to be causing an apparant public nuisance you can get a warning the first time and then the second offence you lose your car for the night and you have to pay to get it back.<p>but by public nuisance this means loud music, driving fast, racing, loud exhaust basically whatever the police can pin on you. This means if you own a modified car no matter who you are you can be in the police's target!!!<p>or if they deem the matter serious enough they bypass the warning and do you straight away so therefore take away your car. this is what happened to me<p>this was brought in for like uninsured drivers and motor bikes etc but yet they are using it against modified car owners!<p>they are totally abusing the power to try and crush the cruising scene
