Heres another reason...
Im on my way to work this morning, and Im going through a high speed heavy traffic, construction zone on the interstate. An area where asphalt is about to be they have "ground-up" the road and getting it erady to lay the asphault. Some idiot who did this left an edge which I hit @ about 55 MPH and it cracks my windshield all the way across and KNOCKS OFF MY REARVIEW. As you already know... its bolted on. Ive probably bent a rim and kicked my car out of alignent.
Now tell me again why I should drive a showcar around... :)

haha yes Peace Darren, I think your car is sick and I never disagreed with you... I was just talking to jwillistyl who dragged this post way off topic by saying all showcars suck and all people with showcars milked their parents for money... which I think is insulting to a lot of the show circuit.
No hard feelings, I was just trying to make a point...
I hope your car is fine Barry, keep us posted on what happens with it!

I like show cars cause the owners really take care of the car. At least most of them do. Maybe not anymore, but my friends dad's 69' Camaro is only a show car and he may drive it every once in a while. I'd rather have it a show car than have him racing it around, whats the point? I like the fact that show cars are kept in mint condition, the car owners put money into it and care for it, the owners treat it right and garage it during bad weather. I like the fact that show cars don't see roads with salt on them, they aren't taken into mud, on the beach, they don't see road grime, Wal-Mart parking lots :) , door dings, parking garages, apt. lots, away from idiot drivers, rain and snow. I don't like some of the owners of show cars, but for the most part, show cars are pretty cool cause they'll have low mileage and be in mint condition years from now. Granted some show cars are so ugly that I won't want to see it in the future, but some are tastefully done and it'll be cool to see them in the future reflecting the past when this world will be filled with hydro-electric powered cars. bleh.

I think what makes a car a car is how you feel about it. I mean think about it, if you bust your *** trying to make a car look like you want it, and its your own hard earned money, then you will care for it. Its like taking a lamborguini to the mall and parking close to a clunker- door dings here we come.

WTF is wrong with having a "showcar"
I have one...so what. I put way to much time, money and effort into my car to have it all fawked up by some idiot kid,****e roads, bad weather...etc, i see it as protecting an investment. The fact is that in todays world if you have anything nice, there is some A-hole waiting around the corner to key it, break in to it, or just vandalize it for the hell of it, and after spend 25-30 grand on modifing my car i would prefer to reduce the odds of this occuring. The nature of a "showcar" is to be shown hence the need to keep it pristine,at a show judges look for a car to be spotless, a daily driven car has atough time at a show because it has to take abuse from the streets all day and is rarley that clean. I admit having a NOS kit in a car just for show is a little redundant, but at the end of the day, if he didnt have it he probably would win any shows,so good for him. I the whole point of this is that i resent the fact that you say you hate show cars, when you are just bitter that you dont take home a trophy, instead of wining about it try taking off the headlight covers and black out spray ,( STAYING CURRENT) lowering your ride a little more and keeping it clean. Winning trophys in the mazda class is not easy(if there is a mazda class at all) its not like hoda where every damn model has aits own class, we have "mazda" and get lumped in with everything from 323's to proteges, miatas and rxs and everything inbetween.owning a daily driven car is not about winning shows, its is about owning something special and nice that you have created, something for you to take pride in, if judges at shows dont get it, fawk em, who cares you didnt build it for them, you built it for you to enjoy . that is no reason for you to hate on those that build cars to win shows and do just that.
my 2 cents?
