Drove a Mini today
Hey, that is a really fun car. I used that coupon they gave out at the car show as an invitation to the dealer. I took out a plain Cooper auto (they didn't have a manual or S demo in). The CVT would take some getting used to, because it sounds like a slipping clutch (when it is in auto mode), but when you put it over into the tiptronic mode, it is a lot of fun! However, I still think that I would go for the manual transmission. For just 115HP the car moves pretty good. There was not as much cargo room as the MX, but it is much taller. I wouldn't feel as bad as I do now for sticking somebody in that back seat of that thing. Overall, it's a fun car!

Glad you had fun! Did you try the steptronic mode? You can shift the car manually thru all 6 gears. You should see if you can drive the manual five speed. It's a blast!

I have a blue and white auto mini, and it handles like a dream! I like it's pickup, but my brakes are ULTRA sensitive and the ride can become jerky in heavy traffic...<p>What I am most impressed with, however, is the kickin' stereo system that they packed into that little machine! It is beastly! I enjoy my Mini, great purchase

Yeah, I did try the steptronic! That is the first time I used anything like that. I was really surprised when I pulled down in 5th and the display then said 6! It behaves a lot like a manual (i.e. downshifting and engine braking). It took a little getting used to (I pushed the stick the wrong way once or twice, and ended up downshifting when I wanted to upshift), but I eventually got the hang of it. I give the fun factor a 10 on that car
