Just ran over a dog!
Re: Just ran over a dog!

quote:
I would think if you tried to sue them, you would end up losing in court.

Actually it is considered their fault, and i would win (leash law). But i'm not worried about that. Like you said, Jeff, I killed their dog. That's what makes me not want to do it, I feel horrible. If some one killed my dog and then tried to sue me that would only make things worse. That's why i don't want to do it. But then again I want to do it because of these three things they said to me..."it's ok we have more dogs", "this happens all the time, don't worry", and "they always play in the road"! So in my eyes that means it'll happen again, and maybe next time, the person behind the wheel wouldn't be able to react in the way I did and kill themself. If i can prevent that I will!
Jason, 273 about a mile or two from northeast.
I've decided i'm just gonna call the spca and see if there is a way to prevent them from letting their animals run loose. If they don't comply to the leash law or if I see their animals running loose again I will get the money from them for the repairs.
Thanks every one for your comments and concern, it was good to hear every one's opinion.

Re: Just ran over a dog!
you guys might think im hearless but she did what she had to do. I had a friend dodge a dog that was in the road and he ran head on into a tree. As he found out from his mean asa insurance salesman, he said "ya should have hit the dog, cause your up the creek without a paddle". insurance doesnt cover you when you miss a dog, they cover you when you hit it. thats screwed up isnt it...
