Custom Cat Back for 100$ ?!?!? believe it

Post by RedSallad »

Like it says in my sig i just got 2.25 piping cat back to the dynomax, it sounds awesome very low , not raspy. Its only straight pipe back to the muffler. The muffler was 40 without tax and the piping and maitenance was only 60. The pipe was done by a crush bender but its a smooth ben no ripples, just a little indention, i got my moneys worth.

Oh and performance wise, many say with 2.25 on the 1.6 you lose a lot but noticed no difference in the low end torque area, as for the high end i felt a little gain.

i mean straight pipe as in nothing between the cat and the muffler such as resonators or glasspacks (same thing)

ahaha there's no ripples, but there's a big-*** dent in your exhaust piping.

At 2.25" for the 1.6, I doublt a little dent is going to effect proformance as much as you would like to make it sound...

lets see a picture of this little 'indentation' in the piping made by a CRUSH pipe bender and we will be the judge of that.

OK where exactly are you in Canada? $114 is damn good price if that's a full catback and not just puting an aftermarket muffler. Are you close to Ottawa?

actually that's not too bad then. congrats on the budget exhaust and sorry for opening my big mouth :o

you should ceramic coat the pipes for better heat transfer though and to help prevent rust. im doing the same for my piping.

yeah that's not a bad deal, here in Arkansas there's no inspections, so i did away with my cat, and have 2.5 ran from my flexpipe to a Magnaflow, with a 18in resinator. I got a buddy deal on it, but it only cost me $115. Little loud for my taste, would you guys have any suggestions on quiteing it down just a bit? Thanks-Joe

Any straight thru muffler is gonna be loud as f... But putting a high flow cat would quiet it don a bit.
