Re: Stroker kit!!
A stroker kit is a modification to the internals of your engine. A stroker kit creates a longer stroke (by changing the crank, connecting rods, and most likely pistons as well), which increases engine displacement. Not only does the increase in displacement give you more power, but as the stroke increases, the angle at which the connecting rods push against the crank changes. This change give a greater mechanical advantage (leverage) which in turn provides more torque (large gains in Torque). If you can find a company that makes a stroker kit for the 1.6 DOHC Mazda engine, PLEASE let me know, because I would be MOST intersted!

Re: Stroker kit!!
most of the stroker kits I have seen require and engine rebuild every so many miles
130 hp and 1000 horsepower strong,
Re: Stroker kit!!
I have also heard something along those lines (not like a rebuild every 30000 or anything like that), but I bet that you would be hard pressed to get 100000 out of it. I think this is due to the increased side-load on the cylinder wall (because the rod will be at a larger angle than stock), thus wearing out the cylinder walls more rapidly (I think that is right). But a stroker kit is a great way to get reliable HP (and best of all, you CANNOT tell just by looking under the hood that there is a stroker kit).
