New to MX-3's

Post by tcsnipe »

Im about to buy a 92 standard v6 MX-3. It looks like a nice car. Can somebody tell me the first couple of performance parts to put on it? I was thinking exhaust, intake, and headers to start off with. But I dont know what brand of any of these are good. Will somebody tell me some good brands. Oh and one more thing. I see a lot of pictures of MX-3's with after-market spoilers on it, but the stock spoiler is still on there. Can you take the stock spoiler off or not? Thanks

No problems taking the stock spoiler off. Ractive makes front struts for the mx-3/ the headers and intake you'll may want to go to www.corksport.com or mazdaspeed. As well the the exhaust you can go ractive(not that great though). Flowmaster(loud) or pretty much whatever suits you. Most aftermarket exhausts are universal so pretty much you can fit any of them in. I have a tunable one. If you have any more questions pretty much do a search you'll find all your answers.
Good luck and congrads on the new mx-3

IMO Id do the KLZE swap . Its only a $1200-1300 motor and its 200HP all motor. As far as intake, go with a PRM, best sound/performance I have seen so far ( I have tried a few diff intakes, I like my PRM the best)
Headers for the MX-3 are all crap, everyone who has had them get little or no gains for the money.
Corksport has all you need as far as performance parts, but you can get a KLZE engine from a number of places.
If your looking for body kits/ect look @ mx-3.com's body kits section, it has links to everything you need.
