Which exhaust??
Which exhaust??
Ok I have been thinking about getting the Mazdaspeed exhaust kit for my MX-3, but the best price I have found is $601 from corksport.com. My question is this is there a better option for this or is there something better than the Mazdaspeed exhaust??? I don't really want to be the loudest car on the block, but I want the performance boost! Thanks in advance for the help.

Re: Which exhaust??
My first exhaust was a pacesetter it sounded really good.not too loud but loud inside the car. after that i had 2 1|4 inch pipe bent all the way back to a powertone stainless muffler. this is louder. now i am having dual mufflers put on with no cat. this should be LOUD. i would recomend the pacesetter because it is affordable and sounds good. the pipes get rusty quick butif you take care of it , it will be fine.
Re: Which exhaust??
What are the thoughts on the Mazdaspeed Exhaust system that Corksport is selling? I want something that will work good and last a long time. Rusting is a problem in my state during winter when they have to salt the streets.

Re: Which exhaust??
I have a pace setter right now. Dont talk about how badyour winters are and having a problem with rust. I live in NY. It is not out of the ordinary to wake up and see 3 feet of snow. We get the salt, alot of it. But I ran my car through the winter last year. All I did was wash it once a week and sprayed of the under carrage real good. My pipes have surface rust but its nothing to worry about.
Jim
93 RS

Check out www.stylincompacts.com for the brullen exhaust stainless steel and a good sound for $479. I don't have one yet but I plan on it.

Re: Which exhaust??
The Brullen kit looks great but its apparently only designed for a 92 - 93 MX3, whereas I have a 95. Does anyone know if this will work on a 95??? Keep those suggestions coming, this is great!

Flowmaster exhaust is just an expensive name now. They're nowhere near as good as they used to be.
Sorry. Had to voice that.
------------------
Zoom Zoom Zoom

Re: Which exhaust??
Screw stylincompacts.com I ordered a steering wheel from them, well actually my girlfriend was getting it for me for an easter present. She ordered it3 weeks before easter and we did not recieve it untill June!! Then they did not even send the hub adapter which took 2 more weeks to come. And the customer service rep I talked to said that I couldnt of ordered it before easter because they did not have them yet. Well I told her that my reciept stated when I ordered it and she still denied any wrong doing. Basically said VERY UNPROFESIONAL!!
Jim
93 RS

Re: Which exhaust??
Hey Raivynn,
Have you ever used a flowmaster on an import? Well heres a lil fact for you. DYNO PROVEN HORSEPOWER! I dyno'd my car before and after my exhaust and I got almost nine horsepower from adding my flowmaster. And that was accross the upper rpm band. I paid 300 for my complete exhaust including catalytic, piping, muffler and a sweet tip. can u beat that??? I dont know who told you that flowmaster is all name but from what i can see about mazdaspeed i think you have it backwards...Just had to put my two cents in.
quote:
Originally posted by Raivynn:
Flowmaster exhaust is just an expensive name now. Re: Which exhaust??
Don't mean to be rude, but all I've heard about FlowMaster is how disappointed everyone's been with it. My dad has one on his truck, and I don't think it's all that great. Mazda Speed may not be as great as some other things, but...I don't trust FlowMaster anymore. I've heard a lot of bad stories. They realized they could make some money and they downed the quality. Maybe it's just me. I don't really care, because it's not going to affect me in any way.
------------------
Zoom Zoom Zoom

Re: Which exhaust??
Hello,
Actually if you look on Flowmasters website they have a new muffler out. Also alot of people that bracket race or have to use a muffler when they race use flowmaster. Go to the track and look. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I have been in the auto parts business for seven years and have NEVER had a flowmaster fail. I even have one on my jeep and I bet the hell outta that thing and its perfect still.
quote:
Originally posted by Raivynn:
Don't mean to be rude, but all I've heard about FlowMaster is how disappointed everyone's been with it. Re: Which exhaust??
I don't think there are any changes to the exhaust systems from 1992 to 1995. I could be wrong but my manual doesn't say anything. Also if you don't trust stylin compacts you can order it from www.corksport.com although the price is higher. As for making a custom exhaust none of the grease monkeys around here can weld for sh!t and when I ask if they can mandral bend they give me a blank look.
