seatbelt problems/interchang questions

I recently bought a 92 gs. The seatbelts didn't work so I took it to the dealer. Lifetime warranty. They ordered, then installed both side rails. But, had to order a switch for the drivers side. Went back today and the irate mechanic said the door is from a later model . Wouldn't install whatever it was that he needed to. Said that the wiring is different. {I did have to run a hot wire from my drivers side window on/off switch to the passenger door to supply current.}I asked the mechanic what did I have to do, buy another door? He said yes. I know better. It appeared that he had a complete door latch assembly? If I get one at a junkyard can I wire it up? What can I do ? The plastic loom thingy that passes from the door to the interior- does it plug in somewhere. without taking each individual wire out? Also about interchanges. My car has abs. Do I need specific shocks/struts? what about brake rotors? are abs rotors or pads different?
