Doesn't seem to me it comes that close to the engine.
Anybody taken it off and ran into problems?

Why is there this metal looking hose attached to the power steering line?
Is there a special function ?

It protects the line from heat, but I would say you'd be fine without it.

Wont melt it, just dry it out faster and possibly cause boiling of your P/S fluid increasing wear to the pump and rack, leave it if you have it just my .02atx_mx3 wrote:Word.
