Hey, I'm back. Re-found my love for my mx-3.
Hi all. It's been a couple years since I was active on here. And, since the time my car was stolen and returned, my mx-3 has just kind of been sitting around in my driveway. On New Year's Eve, I bought a 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0 Turbo. I love the many high-tech features. But yuo know what -- this is my first Turbo car. I now see why you all who have BPT love the turbo! But, unfortunately, it has an automatic transmission, and I miss the manual shifting much more than I thought I would.
So, this weekend, I gave my car's exterior a good wash, reinstalled the battery, and ran the engine at idle for about an hour with the heater going to dry out the inside. Then I took her for a drive. It was fun sitting so low, and using a manual shift. I think I have fallen back in love with my mx-3, and am going to do this of that to help fix it back up.
In the last couple of years, I've learned a few things, which I'll share in forums, as I do my work. I think the first topic will be fixing a break in my front bumper wrap.
Also, when I was driving, I was impressed with how dim the head lights were. Maybe driving my Mazda3 for the last three years spoiled me with adjustable projector headlights. I guess I'll take a look at the alternator, and at the grounding. Perhaps I'll buy the projector conversion kit.
The suspension feels spongy, so maybe I'll replace those. Anyway, it's good to be back.
Eric

I'm WAAAY far south, but if the meet is anywhere near my place, I could put as many as 5 people up... I have a couch, a giant recliner, an air mattress, and a motorhome with 2 beds in the driveway.

Re: Hey, I'm back. Re-found my love for my mx-3.
thanks for the idea, but I've got mechanical concerns I'd like to deal with before I go spending money on things like that. Still... My Mazda3 had adjustable headlights, and my Genesis coupe does not. Kind of miss being able to lower the lights.Nd4SpdSe wrote:Could always look at swapping in the adjustable euro headlights
I live near Beaverton, not too far from Washington Square. I know of a few of the nice mx3s around, perhaps I've seen yours around too. Did you happen to stop by my place a couple weeks ago and offer to my wife to buy my mx-3?bogaut wrote:hey a fellow tigard resident. where in tigard do you live? maybe ive your mx3 around town
Me too. There are some nice roads between Seattle and Spokane. Nice canoeing and hiking along that route too.MrMazda92 wrote:I'd be down for a trip up to Spokane, it's been a long time since I went out that way!
I'm up for a meet some time too. Let's make it happen.
