Re: Transmission Shifter

Post by stepchyld »

I squandered time and a little material off a cutting disc to spare the dollars, hoping the bar falling loose was my only problem. Luckily, it was, and so I'll soon spend the money I spared then to fix it right.

mazdaspeed23, I'd suggest you make sure the stud is properly tight in the transmission when you replace those missing parts. It'd suck to go through fixing it only to have the stud come out. if it's loose, remove it, slap some loc-tite on it and torque it proper. Just a precaution...

and, yeah, my car is brutal right now, but all goes well, it won't be for long

Bushing and sleeve:
1 - B09246047 PIPE $3.64
1 - GJ2146041 BUSH $5.69
Nut and 2 washers to hold it in place:
1 – 999401000 NUT, FLANGE $2.93
2 – 999521030 WASHER $1.38
I assume you still have the stud, but if not:
1 - BG6246161 STUD $3.99

i've been considering buying this bushing for the "99+" protege it looks about the same size as the one i installed in my pro back in the day, definetly the finishing piece to a short shifter and bushing upgrade.

I wouldn't bother. Putting in new OEM bushings is already a mini struggle, they're so nice and snug, I wouldn'tcause yourself any grief. Plus, they'll go bad in what, another 10-15 years?
