Not only would it be less weight it would be distributed better! Although I don't know if there are regulations for racing having it located in there... I think that may you only have to have a battery cut off switch on the rear of the car so maybe it doesn't matter where it is located? Recommend you do some research first

I'd rather keep the cutoff elsewhere, if possible... The relocated battery is almost required for me to run the straightneck, and it will help clean out the bay, while balancing the car better. What's not to love?
