That's a nice ride you got there, the stock look looks great.
And I'm not familiar with that sort of seat belt setup, can anyone elaborate on them? Are they mounted to the door or like....?

Looking tidy! Nice work, looks like it was a fantastic find! Stock does look great, just looks like a few minor things need a clean/patchup! (Seats, front lip looks like it sags a tad - neither should be hard or costly to do! :D )
Welcome to the forum, Wooters, I'm sure you'll find stacks of info on here about these cars, and probably lots of mod ideas for you if you decide to take that path! :)

Rob, thats the standard US-spec seatbelt, the "automatic" sort. They kept breaking, so Mazda US has a lifetime recall on them lol... They're mounted on a bar just above the doors, and electrically slide back/adjust from the top end, while staying permanently attatched at both ends. (At least, that's what I can figure out from all the stuff I've read on them...) Stacks of people in the US have swapped them over in favour of the normal, manual style of seatbelt haha. You can find heaps of info on here about them, and lots of people complain about the lack of functionality of them, etc. I'm surprised you haven't stumbled accross them yet! haha
I think it's a pretty neat idea, but reckon it would take a lot of getting used to - pretty sure I'd prefer my manual seatbelts, though!!

Thanks for all of the comments guys! :D
I live in Illinois, US and we just had our first snow so the car is buried with a car cover on it. I'm taking it to my shop in a couple days to clean the whole car.

Like ethand said, the automatic seatbelts are only found in the US series. They run on a track so when you open the door (like in the pic) and go forward so you can sit in the seat. then when you close the door, the belt moves back and looks like you put it on. I prefer these over manuals. But everyone is different.
My seatbelts work perfectly without any hesitation at all.

I was very surprised when i saw them to, I've combed through a fair amount of work logs and haven't seen them before although I've always heard about automatic seat belts but I never really understood what they were. Thanks a lot Ethan.

Haha no wuckas, Rob ;)
Yeah, if you look carefully, you'll see a fair few that have them. I know that Stangant (fairly new user), Jovian2k, Mooneggs (at least, I know one of his USED to, not sure if he's swapped them out, though), and I'm sure I've seen a whole lot more cars with them, but can't remember who's...
Anyway, I'm real glad you love these seatbelts, Wooters - they're certainly a very novel feature, and I gotta admit I do love the idea of them, even if I'm not so sure how practical they'd be!
All the best with the cleanup - I'm sure you'll have stacks of fun with it, seeing what you can do, and looking at what suits your personal tastes in terms of what you do with it. Certainly looks like you've got your hands on a very tidy, well-set up car, which is definitely a very good start! :)

I can't decide between the AGGRESSIVE kit and the DRIFTER kit. Plz leave your comments below on which kit you like. All comments will be taken into consideration.Thanks.

Both kits have been done to death. I say keep it oem. But, if you must choose one, Id go with the drifter kit.
Took the bp+t out of the mx and swapped it into a 95 escort wagon. ;)

I would go with the B2 kit!! I like the front bumper in the drift kit but I hate the chuncky rear bumper!! The aggressive would be my second choice though
93 White RS- BPT Built not bought!!

I'm leaning toward the aggressive kit. I live in illinois and I only know of one other mx3 in my area. It is completely stock with a 1.8L and needs alot of work. Also there are only a couple cars that are dressed up for the street. There are more trucks and hotrods where I'm at.
