Removing a Broken Key

There's been a couple of posts asking how to remove a broken key from say, your ignition switch. I found this. 1

1 Insert a coping saw blade into the lock assembly.
2 Lower the teeth of the saw blade down to the teeth of the key. Make sure the the teeth of the saw is pointing backward toward the outside of the door lock. Catch the broken key neck with the saw blade.
3 Draw out the broken key neck slowly. The key is already in a weakened condition. Working too fast may cause the broken neck to break in other areas.
4 Draw the key neck out with one hand. Put the other hand underneath the lock assembly to catch the broken key neck.

Seems simple enough, can probably be used for other locks as well. Cheers
