Bi-Xenon Retrofitt worklogg?
Hello
Just wondering if anyone has ever completed a true Bi-Xenon retrofit on a stock MX-3 headlight. I will be getting into this in the next week or so as soon as i receive my clear lenses, d2s ballast adapter from shina, and pick up my Infinity FX-45 Bi-Xenon projectors. I'm also not sure if i want to paint the inside of the housings flat black, or keep them reflective :S .
Current pics
--------------
set of standard issue spare MX-3 headlights that i baked and put front facing led's into a while back
True OEM Infinity FX-35 / FX-45 projector housings with Hi beam solenoid
OEM replacement clear lenses
Standard AMP to D2S adapter
Basic slim digital ballasts that Ive been running for a few years
As for the wiring, ill be using my current 9004 HID relay harness plus some custom wiring to enable the shroud to retract for the high beams
Not sure what shroud to use yet either, i will wait until i get everything all together and then decide, my current choices that i like so far are the following.
OR
Thanks for any comments or help anyone provides in advance

I think it would look nice if you painted the rest of the housing black or maybe some smoked lenses. Nice work with fitting those projectors though and I love the LEDs.
If it weren't for physics and law enforcement, I'd be unstoppable!

Re: Bi-Xenon Retrofitt worklogg?
thanks for the comments.
i used my second set of spare lights yesterday to mount the projectors level and square with the headlight.
So i took my hack-mounted other set and started on paint schemes. I tried 2 different styles, let me know which one everyone thinks is the best.
Option 1: (my favorite)
Option 2:
Hard to tell whats black and whats chrome but if you look enough you can tell.

I've wanted to do that Audi R8 LED lights look on the headlights of my MX-3 for a while now. It would look pretty sweet.

Re: Bi-Xenon Retrofitt worklogg?
Well. I've been pretty sick lately and haven't done a whole lot lately but I got to painting my housings. Here's a mock up of the clear lenses and bi-xenon projectors bolted in. Trimming still needs to be done on the lenses to make them fit nicely.

Re: Bi-Xenon Retrofitt worklogg?
HA!!! I knew that darn lenses would not be a direct fit. I emailed the seller long ago about them and he promised they would slip right in the OEM location... FAG. Would you please take some more exact pics of your fitment issues.
I made these years ago.
The lense is a sanded OEM lense to remove the refraction ridges, but it was a SUPER PITA and still not to my level of high quality.

Re: Bi-Xenon Retrofitt worklogg?
Well unfortunately I've lost interest in doing the retrofit , so everything in the worklog so far is now for sale. Asking $250 CAD plus shipping. PM me if interested.
