KLZE flooding and wont start!!!

Post by mitchell_jarvis »

So i just bought a mx3 with a klze in it, but the car wont start and its flooding itself
heres what happened
the other morning she went out to her car, it started but then just flooded it out...sounded like a 2 stroke engine
loud, misfired
died, wouldn't idle at all.
then started it the next day and it did the same...but then it would idle and sound like a 2 stroke.

its reading codes for fpr and tps, but i replace both tongith and no go. would it matter that the fpr i put on was from a 1.8 and not a 2.5? the 1.8 reads a code kl01 and the 2.5 reads kl02

any help would be great!

Sounds like you have he plug wires in the wrong order, or the timing is way out.

got a timing light handy?

was the car running fine previously to this problem? if so i doubt the timing is off that bad unless the belt skipped a tooth somehow.

That's what we figured, cause it ran fine until the other morning, we think it skipped a tooth from a cold start, thanks

You use the disty that's meant for the year of the car. That way it matches what the ECU is looking for.

I know you believe that you understand what you think I said but I'm sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

so i just changed the maf and that didnt work, i did a fuel pressure test and it max read 40 psi is that right?
and i heard clicking coming from the back of the motor too, anyone no what thats from?
when i try starting it, it turns over, but doesnt start, it makes slight attempts but then fails to, and after i stop turning the key, it will give a slight jump about .5 sec after. any clue to whhy?
And i talked to my teacher whos a mechanic and he said that if it has good compression then it didnt jump the timing.
and i hear the fuel pump for i dont think thats shot.

someone please help me
