Decent use of pocket under stereo in cconsole!

Post by mor500589 »

So i had a day off and decided to work on the car because my jimmy rigged switches for my foglights and my fan were not cutting it so i took the time and money (10$) to do this. let me know what you think.

So i started by taking out the stereo:

Then i took out the pocket after figuring out that it has 2 spring type clips on the sides:

I then got a sheet of acrylic sheet .080" 8x10 and made my plate.

and drilled the 1/2" holes

Bought 2 cheap switches at my local autozone

My prior drilled holes for the wires

after holes are drilled and switches are in (prior to wiring)

Why is your fan on a switch and not activated by the vehicles temperature? And why not tap into your other driving lights for the fogs?

Nice how to either way, would be good if there is some other accessories that needed to be on a switch, like interior LEDs or something. The finished product looks great.
Took the bp+t out of the mx and swapped it into a 95 escort wagon. ;)

Are the accessories still running through a relay or are they just hard wired to the switch? The latter would be mucho current for cheap switches.

the fan is on a switch because somehow the fan stopped working and checked the relay for the fan motor and replaced it then still didnt work so i bought an aftermarket fan and it wouldnt fit between the two radiators so i reversed the blade and current and it works very well and i tried to tap into the existing fan motor wires (which had current) and let it overheat and nothing... so i put it on (its own) switch. and good guess lol the other switch is running interior leds as well as the fogs and they all have in-line fuses. ;)

they are 20 amp switches so eh well see. lol

Seen this car on craigslist not to long ago in Lincoln, Nebraska hmmm....set-up is nice, but to give it a clean look i would paint it black/fla, hides the wires a bit. .02 :D
