I purchased this vehicle a little over a year ago and loved it, however I got a car I loved a little more and didn't require the few repairs - and I'm no mechanic. The car has sat in my driveway since July and rather then pretend that I'll fix it someday, I'm just going to sell it off to the highest bidder over $1000. The car is not inspected (I do not have insurance on it) but that can be taken care of for a small fee after the auction if it's important to you. The car has been started up and moved around every 1-2 weeks but has not been road driven for several months.

I will make every attempt to list the good and bad aspects of this vehicle as I believe that when buying on the internet you should get exactly what you are paying for. This list may be long and detailed, so please read it carefully before bidding. I will make every attempt to be 100% accurate, but obviously there may be minor things I may forget. Let's start with the good.
THE GOOD - The car starts easily and every time you turn the key. There is no rust that I can find anywhere on the vehicle. It comes with 4 brand new tires, original aluminum rims, a mostly-new muffler, a brand new battery, fresh brakes (that are easy to replace) and an AM/FM/CD Player (nothing special). The sunroof works, all the signals/lights/plastic are good. The AC still blows cold. The door locks are fine (even the hatch) and the engine is still fairly clean. The drivers side axel/joint has been replaced in the past year, and quite honestly the car looks pretty darn sharp. This car still runs and handles the road like a champ.
THE MEDIUM - The original paint on this year car is poor quality and chips easily. After 10 years of road use you can see little chips all over the paint when you look closely at it. This is perhaps why the original owner installed a bra on the front. I've never taken the bra off, but if there is damage under it, I was not able to detect it. The automatic seat belts are broken, but they are under a lifetime recall and a trip to the dealer should get them replaced (more info on mx-3.com) free of charge. The leather interior is in pretty good shape excepting a rip on the drivers seat (viewable in pics) and there is also a crack in the plastic behind the drivers seat that took me a while to even notice myself (also viewable in pics). The cruise control doesn't work. It could be as simple as a fuse, but I never checked into it as I hate using cruise control. The body does have the usual dings one might expect of a 10 year old car, but nothing seriously deformed or damaged.
THE BAD - The engine leaks oil at about 1 quart per week. My machanic belives the head gaskets need replaced and that the leak was caused when I replaced synthetic oil with regular oil (I had no idea the car had synthic oil in it) - however I've never let the engine run low and it's not been damaged by low oil. The Transmission leaks at about 1 quart every 2-3 weeks. I have no idea where or where from, but as long as the level is kept proper the transmission does not slip so I dont think it's a replacement job... just a seal or something that needs replaced. Finally - the passanger side axel/joint needs replaced. It had a year lef to on it when I had the drivers side done, and well - now is the time.
