Post by fowljesse »

I want to do the Hocky puck mod, but don't want to have the down time of pulling mine out. I'd like a totally bad one for cheap ;)

The Hockey puck mod...
Long ago, before AWR mounts, and even before the window weld solution, some Canadians figured out that you can shave the outer diameter of 2 pucks, drill out the middle, and press them into a cleaned out motor mount. That way, you have solid motor mounts.
I should specify that I need the mount for a V6, and am looking to spend about $10, since I'm going to cut all the rubber out, and can use one that is otherwise useless :)

Umm.. Thanx, I feel as though you just "outed" us. I'm at a loss for words. I thought we were over this and could live as equals... sadly, it looks like we will never be more than hockey fans up here.

I have alot of V6 parts... Ive had 6 MX-3's, 4 GS's (2 of those I swapped 2.5l) and 2 RS (Both SOHC)

Now I only have 1 GS which is my race car, 2.5l Turbo. And 1 RS, 1.6l Stock for daily driving.

 NO, nO. It is a compliment! It is an ingenious mod! You are so much more than Hockey fans...
I'm thinking about defecting to Canada. I'm working on my "Eh".

Right on, mx3sohc! Do you have a junk rear MM?

I feel obliged to warn you, if you do this mod your mounts will be so stiff your dash will vibrate and your b*lls will be bouncing off the seat. I suggest your drill two holes in the pucks to allow for a little flexability. :)

Thanks, Dan, I was actually planning to drill some holes :)
Do hockey pucks come in a softer Duro? I have some from a game, and they say they're "official". Maybe they make softer ones for the kids?
