so i got the swap done. its started once but has not started again. after i erased the code it was giving me i put the led back on the battery and turnd the car on so i could check codes. befor even starting it, it gave me a code 5 witch is knock senser. y is it still coming up if used the breaks like ever one says to erase the codes. also i am runing the probe ecu dizzy and afi. any help would be nice. i have looked on here and cant find anything. and in the book to.
93 mx-3 with a klde swap. still working on
94 cobra svt. mostly stock.

The code is coming back cause there is a problem with the knock sensor.

i thought that it wouldnt give me a code untill i tryed to start it. im still trying to find the tool to pull the knock sensor out

When TEN and GRD are bridged it begins the self test as soon as the ignition is on. The knock sensor is a single wire sensor so you don’t have to run the engine to show that the circuit is shorted or open. The ECU would detect a problem like that as soon as power is present.

ok cool. thanks for the help. dose any one know what size that sensor is or where i can get the right tool to take it out.

I can't remember the socket size however for the new knock sensor you need to cut a
slot in the socket to allow the wiring out while tightening / torquing otherwise use
a crowsfoot spanner..

I just used a wrench and a hammer. A 1" or 15/16 wrench IIRC. It's tricky but you have to do it at an angle to break it free, then it'll spin easily.

well ill just go buy a socket and cut it. can any one tell me what size it is. i have had ppl around town tell me 22mm 25mm 27mm i dont want to have to go buy all 3 just to see what size it is.

thanks. i got the 24 mm and it works good. lol. thanks for your help. now i just have to get my self out there to take the motor apart to put the other senser in . lol
