Converting Door from Manual to Electric

Post by *Y* »

Hey everyone,

I had a quick question about my door. I got into a bit of an accident recently and need a new door. The local junkyard has a manual door, but mine is electric. How much work is it to swap everything out from my door to a manual one? Will everything fit well or is there a decent amount of custom work involved? The reason I am asking is because there is an electric door located 2.5 hours away and the guy is selling it for the same price. Is it worth the drive, instead of swapping things over?

I've done it. It wasn't hard at all. Took maybe an hour. I had a friend to help support things and stuff.

its easy
i did mine a while back
the manual doors have the screw holes and everything you just pop the motors and bolt it up
you'll need to pull the whole harness from your old door and install it to your new one
attach the door panels and make sure everything works :D

The hardest part for me was connecting the harness between the hinges. I think the right way is to remove the fenders and plug the harness but i took a shortcut.
