KL-ZE: straight neck with curved neck im

Post by MX-3-Tom »

Hi guys,

I have a question to you:
Is it possible to install a KL-ZE straight neck (the one with KL-31 cams) with a curved neck intake manifold and KL-31 ECU into a MX-3?
Does this version have advantages/disadvantages over a complete KL-ZE curved neck (the one with KL-01 cams) with curved neck intake manifold and KL-31 ECU?

Thanks for helping!
Tom

You don't know this?

Everyone uses a straight neck motor and curved manifold, so it doesn't interfere with the brake master.

Most use Probinator to get the right VICS points, matched with the cams, and the vaf.

Search... its everywhere. This is probably the most common thread, things like this.

In Germany we install the KL-ZE curved neck (with KL01-cams), curved neck im, KL31-ECU and JE50-VAF.
I also drive this setup.

But the KL31-cams are giving more power, right?

The difference is that the kl31 cams are supposed to push the power up higher, peak torque/hp is moved to slightly higher rpms which is better for racing.

excuse my naivety, but are german cars RHD?

If you're RHD, both manifolds should work fine (I think?)

Yep, anything that is RHD will not encounter the problems that the USA people do.

I know because my straight neck fits nice in my engine bay (RHD).
