Alternator Fuse?

Ok, this has been a REALLY long night. currently my car is sitting about a half hour away completely dead. after reading, my alernator must have gone out, got charge light, everything died etc... anyhow, in the pouring rain we run to canadian tire to get a new battery and dsuring the rush putting it back in we did it backwards first, so i put it back in and then now when i turn the key NOTHING, no guage lights no sound no nothingggg. imn wondering if maybe i blew a fuse when i put it in backwards, or if i fried my whole car, help please :'(

Isn't there a fuseable link on the battery wire positive side? Can't remember but ya uaually you blow the fuse.

I know the 626 had an 80A fuse in the engine bay...but I've never checked for that on the Mx-3.

There's a main fuse in the underhood fusebox. The "legs" on it are actually bolted to the contacts in the fusebox so you have to take out those 2 bolts first.

So, i towed it in the morning to local ajax mazda, from whitby, and they put in a new alternator and they said there was no belt on it, so now 500 hundred dollars later, it needs a crankshaft pulley, 250 plus tax and installation i need a pulley but where do i decide to stop pouring money into it....

that's what I'm wondering... are you sure you aren't getting jerked around by the mechanic?? if you broke a belt that would explain why the car stopped running... are you SURE the alternator actually is bad?

First get towed home or drive without alternator belt on. Check insurance tows might be included. Second check for voltage at batt if its there u should have power everywhere stero headlites etc. If nothin check all ur fuses. A broken alt belt is 15 bux u won't need yet til u get it home as a new batt will make it home or close if dealership is far jump car if needed if don't make it all way home. Have a buddy follow u. There's no fn way ur crank pulley went out they are tards. If u have power everywherr n car won't turn over than buy a distributor or do hei mod (search it) common problem cheap easy fix.
