Hey bros need help with elec. problem

Post by boniclyd »

My MX-3 died on me about 1 month ago. The battery was dead and the alarm system had a shorted wire.
Had a buddy at a dealership remove the alarm system. I replaced the battery.
It cranked fine for a few weeks. Then one morning it was sluggish. That evening it would not crank.
I jumped it off, took it auto zone, they said battery and alt. were good. My positve connector looked very worn.
I replaced it and it cranked fine, the next day I cranked it and it idled, the the tack, speedometer, and light
were dead and it barely got me to work, then of course I had to jump it off to leave work and pick up my kids.
I used a meter and checked ground strap, alt voltage (12), battery volts running (13.5),
Today it cranks everytime, what do you guys think.

Also it is smoking white, real thick when first cranked, idle it sparatic when I apply the brakes.

Here is are the things I replaced this year.
Fuel Pump, Alternator, Battery, Timing belt, Radiator, Disty, Disty Cap, Disty Rotor, Plugs, Wires, Fuel filter,
Tires,

PLEASE HELP, THANKS IN ADVANCE

Hmm, check your grounds in the engine bay, look for corrosion or freyed wiring. Maybe redo the grounds byt cleaning up with sandpaper or replacing the wires
