Look out cones, here I come!

Post by fowljesse »

When I went to get polycarbonate for my windows, the cute scretary started talking to me, and asked what I was doing for the weekend... She said she was going to racing school, and eventually, she told me that there was a guy that came in from another company wthey worked with that did autocross in an MX-3. I gave her my # to give to him, and he turns out to be one of the top SCCA auto-X guys, and he drives an RX-3 that he bought new. I went this morning to Portland Int'l Raceway, and met him. In a couple of weeks, I'll do my 1st autocross. I'm excited! Today was a driving school, and it was too late to sign up. I think I can beat their times, anyway, but I'm kind of overconfident. He said he'd ride with me at the next event, and give me tips. F-yeah! Hopefully, I'll have my plastic windows in by then. My girlfriend will take pictures, if she's not working. It will be great to represent MX-3! They said the track will have an 80 mph straightaway!
I can't wait!!

my mx-3 is not set up for autocross and Cobra isnt great in corners without p/s, Im sure it'd whoop most anything in straightaway lol.

I'm actually thinking about racing the stock one, because with all my mods, I'd be in a class where I may not stand a chance. I'm going to run the fast one, though, and see how it works out... maybe in the future, i'll race both at the same time.
Mitmaks, you should race the Cobra! It would be fun to see, and you'd get a "Popeye arms" workout! I took the P/S out of my full sized travelling van, and it made my arms bigger
