Help!!!
Please...
Ok well, I just put in two new Universal O2 Sensors of the NTK brand and now i'm getting codes 23, and 24. I looked them up, and it says it's something to do with them. I don't know Maybe I hooked them up wrong? Anyone get 23 and 24 before at once?

Re: Help!!!
well the NTK wires are different color than the wires off the factory connectors. so... i think i figured out all the colors so i'm going to check them out today.
i'll report back.
what does 23, and 24 mean...?
List of codes and what they correspond to:
02 'NE2' crankshaft position sensor
03 'G' camshaft position sensor
04 'NE1' camshaft/crankshaft position sensor
05 Knock sensor
08 Volume Air Flow sensor (VAF)
09 Coolant temperature sensor (CTS)
10 Intake air temperature sensor (IAT)
12 Throttle position sensor (TPS)
14 Barometric pressure sensor
15 LHO2S inactivation error
16 Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system
17 LHO2S inversion error
23 RHO2S inactivation error
24 RHO2S inversion error
25 Fuel pressure regulator control solenoid
26 Canister purge solenoid
28 EGR vacuum solenoid
29 EGR vent solenoid
34 Idle air control (IAC) solenoid
41 VRIS #1 solenoid
46 VRIS #2 solenoid
i'll report back.

Re: Help!!!
Completely off the top of my head based on the wording of the error codes I'd say it means you got the wires backwards and it's causing the O2 sensor to not activate.

Re: Help!!!
Hmm.. perhaps.
Well I checked the one on the frontside(closest to front of car) of the engine(left or right??)
And I have it wired Like this...
left Colors are the oem connector. Colors on the right are the Universal NTK O2 Sensor.
Blue - Black
White - Gray
Black - White
Black - White
Has anyone Done this before? and if so is this Correct?
Also are codes 23 RHO2S and 24 RHO2S refering to the O2 sensor that is located closest to the CAT??
Thanks in advance.

This page of the online manual shows the location of the O2 sensors.

Re: Help!!!
I know where they are located. I checked the right bank o2 sensor and it is wired the same as the left bank 02 sensor.
I got one code that showed up today and it was code 24.
What does "Inversion Error" mean??
I can still smell a gasoline smell from my car.
Can anyone help?
Is there anyone who has put Universal o2 sensors in their k8 mx3? Please help

Re: Help!!!
I have no idea what it means...I was just flyin' off the cuff. If I had that error I would call my local dealership.

Re: Help!!!
This page shows the wire colors for the stock O2 sensors (before the connectors)
http://www.mx-3.com/manuals/showimg.php ... /Z-040.gif" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The inversion code could be due to vacuum leaks or ignition system failures (cap, rotor, plugs, wires etc)

Hmm.. That's weird because I replaced all of those like a week ago... Wires, Plugs, Cap and rotor. i did an oil and filter change too and had my tranny oil changed.
So anyway on the Wiring diagram, the colors would be?
W = white?
B/L = black?
W/R = ??
A = ??
I played around with the Wiring again, and now i'm just getting Code 23 now.
This is kinda getting old... I'm getting horrible gas mileage too. and with that being $4.00 a gallon... sucks.

Re: Help!!!
It could be the sensors themselves.
I bought some replacement brand o2 sensors, some universal kind or something... they didn't work at all.
Ended up purchasing OEM o2's and it fixed the problem.
I would be wary of the O2 itself, just because it's very possible they're faulty themselves.

Hmmm... Faulty is something I wouldn't expect from the NGK/NTK company...
But I guess these days anything goes.
