3M
Midwest Multipoc & Mazda gathering
St Louis, MO June 12-15, 2008

I would like to welcome all to the 6th annual gathering of 3M, hosted by the Missouri Probe Owners Club. This year marks a few differences from some of the past meets. We have added a few more items to the itinerary over the course of the meet. Most noteably for this year, you will note the name for the meet has changed. As I have been more involved in the car realm of St Louis, mostly thanks to my partner in crime, I have met a large group of Mazda owners, or Mazda hybrid owners from Ford, who have expressed interest in this meet, and I wished to widen the range for whom the meet is really for as a welcome. As in years past, the main scope for the meet are cars from the Mazda World, but we welcome all who would like to share their cars with us. Ford, Toyota, VW, Nissan, etc, matters not what you drive, you are all welcome. And now, the details for 3M 2008.

Itinerary

Thursday, June 12

-Early Bird Dinner Meet
8 PM
Lotawata Creek
311 Salem Place
Fairview Heights, IL 62208
For those members local to St Louis, or any who get to town really early, we start out with a small gathering at Lotawata Creek for a great meal, most of whom, cant finish due to quantities!

Friday, June 13

-St Louis Yarding
12PM
For those who might be in need of a few parts (at least ones not in our inventory), we are going to hit 2 of our local salvage yards, 1 decent yard, and 1 great one. Great source if you are in need of domestic parts, but also a very good variety of imports. We will meet at the shop or at the first yard. TBD

-Early Dinner
4PM
The Burger Bar
Lumiere Place Hotel and Casino
901 N First St
St Louis, MO 63102
Not to fear, all ages can enter the restaurant. The Burger Bar seemed fitting, as it is a semi unique establishment in St Louis, only 2 in the country, and probably, the best burger you may ever eat in a restaurant. $12 with beverage for planning.

-Midnight Madness
5:30-PM to 3AM
Gateway International Raceway
Corner of IL Rt 203 and Interstate 55
Madison, IL
This event is held a few times each year. Basically, it is as many ¼ mile runs as you can get in from 9PM till 3AM.
$20 to run
$10 to watch
http://www.gatewayraceway.com/track/...=200709&id=988" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The above website will help you with the regulations for being able to run your car. The event opens at 8PM, however, if you want to run, I wouldn’t recommend arriving later than 6. In general, its highly entertaining, especially when rice hits the track!

Saturday, June 14

-The Meet
12PM-4PM
Sylvan Springs Park
Corner of Boundary and Sheridan
St Louis, MO 63125
This is the central part of the meet and get together. We have a reserved area for the afternoon at Sylvan Springs. Entails meeting others from around the Midwest and sharing our cars with all. The park has a lot of wide open areas for tossing the disc, and playgrounds for those of us who refuse to grow up. Lunch is provided at the park via a touch of outdoor grilling. No funds are required at the park, I buy lunch for everyone. Donations, I will not say no to. Alcohol, feel free to bring and drink, over 21 only.

Above for park info

-The Drive
430PM to 630PM
TBD
I have not worked out the details on this one yet. We have had a few good runs the last couple of years, I am in search of yet another good set of twisties. More to come

-Dinner
7PM
TBD based on the drive, we will more than likely be hitting a couple fast food establishments for time.

-The Shop
8PM till whenever we want
Union and 70
We invite everyone to come to our (Eric Berg and I) shop where chaos reigns pretty much every day. Ample secure parking inside and out. You ask “what takes place here” and here it is
-Car repair. Welcome use of some space to do a few repairs if needed
-Wii. There is nothing quite like watching 2 grown men hopping up and down together. You just have to see to understand
-Partaking of the fine beverage. Drink as you wish, but we keep your car if you can’t drive (don’t worry you get it back)
-The Power Wheels 5.00.
I would call it the 500, but 500 laps might take forever. Plain and simple, if you have any kind of a Barbie Jeep, Power Wheels, or any small motorized play toy, bring it! Prizes will be awarded for creativity of what you bring, and what you do with it!

Sunday, June 15
-Lunch
12PM
Fortel’s Pizza Den
7932 Mackenzie Rd
St Louis, MO 63123
It wouldn’t seem right to have a large St Louis meet without going to a great St Louis Pizza establishment.

-The St Louis Zoo
1PM
Forest Park
St Louis, MO 63110
I always like to wrap up the meet with something that is
1) Unique to St Louis (yes, every city has a zoo, ours rules)
2) FREE
Note, if its too hot, we hit the Science Center, also cool, and FREE!
Both are in Forest Park, which if you are an avid photographer of your car, Forest Park has excellent vantage points for photos.

-Farewell
5PM and after
As with all good things, the meet must come to an end.

I'm thinking of driving down there, it will be depending on my car if it is ready or not.

Me & my fiance & our roommate will be there from Indy. We will most likely take our SVT Focus & our roommate will drive his Probe. But there should be a pretty big caravan of Indy people there ;)
