Hey guys,
I was browsing a website and I stumbled across a junked 1993 Mazda MX-6 With a ZE already swapped into it. The guy wants $1000 for the wreck, and I just sent the owner an email asking him some questions about it. He has pics posted, and it was a front end collsion, but as far as I can tell, it looks like just the headlights, hood, bumper and rad area got banged up and the engine appears to be alright. I also asked him if he has the ZE ECU in it, how many km's on engine, etc.
The car also has a new ACT Stage II Clutch in it, HKS Springs, Brembo cross-drilled rotors all around, and Hawk Pads in the front. I'm just curious if the MX-6 Clutch and rotors will fit onto my MX-3, (I know the springs probably will), and if there's anything else major i should be asking the guy... I just hope the engine is not severely damaged, and i don't want to take the chance, and swap it in, and find out that it's messed up.
Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
Also, I am planning on swapping into my 1994 GS.
Thanks,
Travis

Clutch and tranny will work, rotors will not because the MX-6 has 5 lugs on each wheel and I am sure the pads are different as well. I am not sure about the springs.
No more MX-3

Another Saskatoon MX-3er!
You'll have to come out for a drive some time with me, Tyler Smith, and Ty. Both of them have done the swap, and my ZE is waiting in the garage for me to get it ready to go.
I talked to that guy with the orange wrecked mx-6 and unfortunately it does have motor problems. Apparently there is valve damage on the front bank, so you are going to have to do some head work probably if you go that route. I almost bought it for the extra parts anyway.
If you decide to go with it, offer him less. I think he told me he'd take $800 for it.

Too bad you're not closer to me. I've been trying to sell my MX-3 parts car with everything working, a ZE and stage 3 clutch and nobody wants it for $600. Im about to just throw it out as sad as it is.

Re: Potential Wreck for KL-ZE SWAP!
Ahh that sucks man. I was struggling with the idea of turboing my K8 or swapping in a ZE, and came to the conclusion that i'd rather play around with a new engine with less km's than mess with my K8 with 204,000kms on it. Also if i decided to do the swap after, i'd need to redo my whole turbo system with the ZE, and at least i'd have parts, but the ZE swap just seems much more economically feasable. I'm planning on upgrading my brakes, suspension and exhaust anyways, so if it's awhile before i get my ZE i don't really mind. I'm also sketchin about space under my hood, because I'm planning on doing the ZE swap, eventually turboing it, and I have the HEI ignition mod done with an external MSD blaster II coil, and I'd also like to do a custom cold air, but i'm thinkin i'll have to relocate some stuff, maybe move my battery to the trunk to free up some space.
I'm in school right now too, which means no money, but i have a summer job lined up at New Holland for a design engineer position that pays $23/hour from May-August. So come summer i should have cash to play with.
P.S. If you guys get any leads on some ZE's in the Saskatoon, Regina area gimme a holler. I have Ty on msn, but you other Saskatoon guys should IM me or add me on msn: greschy22@hotmail.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Thanks a lot,
Travis
