Head Gaskets

Post by mazdags94 »

Just to get a feel, what are some good quality head gaskets I could buy? I bought a complete gasket kit from an eBay store that includes the head gaskets, cam seals, valve cover gaskets, valve seals, those small rings for each bolt on the vavle covers, IM gaskets, and exhaust Mannifold gaskets. I plan on running the engine for about a couple years before I upgrade to the KLZE so if these will last me about 5 or so years, I'll be happy. I'm just concerned about poor quality head gaskets. Anyone have any suggestions or feedback?

I think most people that buy gaskets and belts, buy them from Mazda dealership. It's probably hit and miss with these kinds of items. I think most people will say aftermarket isn't as good as OEM, just for these parts.

If your worried that much, you're best bet is to just go OEM, that way, you have no questions. I think most people just get them OEM...especially hard to get to gaskets liek the head gasket, spend more now, pay less later and have the piece of mind of an OEm part.

Yeah, my concern is mostly the head gaskets bc of the labor time involved. What has been the cost of OEM head gaskets these days?

For that price I can see much more attraction to the ZE Swap  I think I'll use the one I have and get a few years out if it but then I'm definitely doing the ZE swap. Thanks everyone

I've heard good things about the Hussy Copper Head Gaskets.

I have always used Fel Pro gaskets onany vehicle I have torn down and need to replace the gaskets. Have never had any problems with them on any vehicle domestic or import.
In some cases I feel that they are superior to OEM gaskets.
