Cigarette lighter question

My cigarrete lighter thing isnt working on my car. I need it for my cell phone charger.

I taken off part of the plastic trim, there just seems to be one wire that connects to it. Isnt there suppose to be 2?

If I'm not mistaken. there are two wires that connect to a L shaped adapter that connects to the cigarette unit.

Take a test light, and see if there's ground in the outer ring of the socket, and 12-volts at the center pin which is connected to the wire. Sometimes the sockets are directly grounded to the chasis without a wire.

Check your fuses.
