ECU Question

Post by the_anj »

I did a quick search...didn't come up with anything

I bought a wrecked probe gt as a donor car for my swap, but the probe was ATX and my mx3 is MTX.

Long story short, can I use the probe's ecu or do I have to find an ECU out of a MTX car?

You should be able to use it. I did the ATX swap to MTX in my MX-3 and I am still using the ATX ECU that came with my car. So I dont see why you couldnt use the Probe ECU in your car. The plugs are all the same.. you just wont have a TCM (transmission control module) to worry about. Shouldnt cause any grief for you.

You will need to use the VAF from the probe though since it is different than the VAF we use in the MX-3's. No big deal though since you should likely have one at hand.
