Letting go of my MX-3

Post by wyldside »

Hi Everyone,
I think I've come to the point where I am faced with letting go of my MX-3. Due to financial concerns mainly, I feel that I should sell my MX-3 and focus on other more important issues. I had dreams of completely restoring the vehicle complete with HID and a nice Blue-Chip Pearl paint job. The truth of the matter is that I don't think I'll ever find the time to do it. And definitely not the money right now either. There are many things I need to get finished up on my house, and suping up a car makes that difficult. I have successfully rebuilt the KLZE from the ground up, complete with new 10.1:1 pistons, rings, and bearings. She goes pretty good, but I am still being gentle since it has only 9000km since the rebuild. The rest of the car pretty much just needs repainting. I will probably put an ad in the Autotrader in a couple weeks, but I thought I should let all of you know first. I will likely sell it in the Autotrader for $8200 but to anyone in the MX-3 community $7800. No less, sorry. I've invested more than that amount of money in the vehicle and rebuilding the KLZE. It really hurts me inside to have to sell my baby, something that I've worked so hard to rebuild. But I really have to look at big picture. :crying:

We'll see. I haven't sold it yet. I think I've been falling short on being a good club president so I may likely hold some club elections for an Alberta President this coming January. I imagine that someone out there can do a better job than I.

Sorry to hear that James...perhaps we could transplant that ZE into my car and sell yours with my OLD 1.8? A thought...

I've had the selling "bling bling" off every now and then as well. Buying a car I could drive all year, spending money on more important things...but I look at the work and progress I have sitting in my garage and its a tough call..so then I order another couple of parts and end up changing my mind.

But seriously, if you can think of a somewhat decent price, we'll talk...HAHA

Trying to match up to your wiring would be a nightmare all in its own since your car is a 94. Mine is all integrated in with a MSD systems as well. I think if I got my car a nice paint job, it wouldn't be so bad. I've pretty much replaced more than half the car now.

sorry to hear that James. Thats exactly the reason my car is still sitting in the garage, for over a year. i want to finnish it but no money to finnish it. All i can say is that if you end up selling your car, you will be missed. I might have to make a trip out there, perhaps several of us out hear could make the trip.

Wish you all the best

Well my wife is trying to convince me to keep my car. (Out of all people) Anyways, depending on if my work starts paying me the pay that is supposed to come along with the new position I'm currently doing; I may just end up keeping it. I don't really want to get rid of it. The rebuilt KLZE is now fully broken in and runs really nice. It's just that I can't afford to restore the rest of the car. We'll see what happens.

Either way, Tracy and I would love to have you and Audrey over for a visit (MX-3 or not). We've got a spare bedroom for you to stay in. I would probably recommend next summer though. Getting a little chilly out.
