On the interior pics page on this site, it shows the 94-98 having a cup holder in the center part of the dash. Is this section of the late dash able to be put into an earlier car?

I mentioned that earler. I was something i wanted to attempt, I even have the cupholder from one, but i haven't taken my dash appart to see if it fits. People have swapped dashs before, sothe mounts must me similar. But you'd have to relocate your cig lighter outlet, that's my problem, i dont know where i'd put it

Nope- Completely different shape. It just slides out of a little slit and that little slit is not in the 92-93 dash.

NO GO! Sorry.

obviously, but why not cut a slit? The questions is if the mounting bracket for the dash would accept the cupholders. People have put 94+ dashs in 92-93's, so if they can, wonder if the copholders fit too?

MY 93 GS came standard with them. After the first couple of uses they proved to be almost useless. Every quick start or stop or sharp turn would put your drink in someones lap. We only used them on the long highway hauls.

Some of us O.G. have swapped in the DIN cup and coin holder from a early 90's Taraus/ Sable in place of the pocket under the radio.

Those of you that build street rods will also know that several companies make bolt in billeted aluminum cup holder that fold back into a slot. There are singles and double holder that are available either to fold into a vertical or horizontal slot depending on where you have space to install them.

oh, just to add to that. That cupholder is only in the lower center console if you have autoseat belts I believe. May need confirmation on this, but I remember Trevor mentioning that he has less room in his console cause his car had autobelts, which he removed. Autobelts we're an option, and farily rare up here in Canada, so I dont have anyone I can check with, but I believe you guys in the State we're basically forced to have auto seatbelts?

My cup holder used to be a shoe! I'd usually keep my gym shoes in the car. thus, providing an excellent cup holder (on the passengers side floor)
