Well, I'm going to take my bucket of bolts to the track on Friday night, Aug 24th for Secret Street. I think that I might set up my camera and tripod inside my car, for an in car race view. For those who are not familiar with it, here are some details.

$25.00 for unlimited # of races
$5.00 for SNELL90 helmet rental
$5.00 admission for any spectators

Gates open at 5:00pm
Tech inspection starts at 6:00pm and runs to 9:00pm
Racing starts at 7:00pm and runs till usually 10:30pm

Is anyone else interested in joining me?

Club attendance list:

* James G. - MX-3 GSR-ZE
* Darcy D. - MX-3 RSR-BP

I just might be able to come out. I think I'll strip my car and hopefully pull into the 16s :)

<Sigh> it's just not the same as the Ariel Atom.... :(

That would be awesome if you pulled in to the track with one of those. I hope they don't complain that my MSD system isn't tied down. They usually only care about the battery. Hopefully I actually get a chance to race against you this time. With your car nice and light, I'll probably loose.

Frick! The canceled because of the rain and that it's too cold for the track to dry off. Talked to Darcy and we will try again for the 24th.

Well, so far the weather is looking good for this Friday. Hopefully I didn't just jinx it.

Well that wasn't too bad. It took a while to race due to the lack of helmets available. It was a really busy night. Next time I have to make sure that I buy myself a helmet.

My best time was as follows.
---------------------------------------
Car #1171 Mazda MX-3 GSR-ZE

Left Lane

R/T : .052
60' : 2.532 s
330 : 6.711 s
1/8 mi: 10.182 @ 71.41 MPH (114.26 km/h)
1/4 mi: 15.523 @ 89.78 MPH (143.65 km/h)
Calculates to 14.87s @ Sea Level using 987.6 m (3,240 ft) elevation

Left 1st .7136

Would probably be 1 second faster if I could get some frickin traction. There's an in car video on the MX-West facebook page.
