225/45/17 tires fit?

Hey quick question, Ive got stock suspension and Im currently running 215 45 17 tires with no rubbing on ADR rims (40mm offset)

Has anyone gone 225/45 without spacers? Im looking at buying tires tomorrow morning, I really need them, so Id like an answer soon if possible. Thanks!

The only part u have to worry about rubbing would be the strut perch...check how much clearance u have now. But since your stock heioght i don't see a problem fittingh those tires

My buddy in ottawa had 225/45's the only fitment issue i belive was having to get the fenders rolled a bit, but other than that, id say deffinetly better grip, and i think youd need it with 400hp

I have 215/35R18 on mine and its also lower quite a bit only thing I hade to do was remove the plastic inner fender cover

Sorry 4 a little hijack...

215/45/17 or 225/45/17 et 35. Currently stock suspension but possibly going -3 cm. Possibility of rubbing on stock or after lowering?

215/45 17 fits nicely , no modification required. 225/45 from what ive heard you have to roll the fenders out a bit, if your car is lowered. It also depends on what offest rim you are running

well i got the tires, and when i tried to put one on the front, it stopped on the perch. i bought some 3mm spacers in hopes of fixing it, but i dont think 3mm is going to be enough

my wheels are 18x9 +24 and the 225/40/18. for the rear i had to use a 3mm spacer to clear the rear strut but my suspension has some very fat strut body. front does not need spacer only rear so it may clear with 9" +24 on a car with off the shelf struts. the wheel lip is a tiny bit past the fenders only in front but some negative camber can make it flush. some pics for reference.

a 8.5 +20 will fit a 225 very close to flush with the fenders but dealing with spring perches is another issue, a 225/35/17 shoule clear the spring perches and you shouldnt need a spacer to fit them. if u want to use a narrower wheel than 8.5" use this calculator to make sure u are within the clearance limits of the 8.5" +20

I believe 225/40/17 would be alot closer to stock circumference than 225/45/17

you are right that 225/40/17 is closer to stock size but if u have ever tried to buy a 225/40/17 u'd know that there is not much tire choices in that size. i can count the tire options with the fingers on one hand.

So a 225 tire will fit on a 7 inch wide rim then? You dont need 7.5. Cause if so then all on that on my next tire buy (street slicks)

you can fit 225 on a 7 inch wide wheel but its pointless to do so because most of the tread will be rolled up on the sides rather than being on the ground. the optimal wheel width for a 225 is 8-9" if you use a wheel too narrow you are wasting money buying wider wheels because the tire tread is only as wide as the wheel allows it to be.
