Places to buy a KLZE

Post by cooper_9 »

hey all, i'm looking at finally doing the ze swap but i'm stumped on where to buy it from. I've looked at websites, called stores, and heard good and bad offers. What i'm looking for though is some feedback. For you ZE guys, would you be kind enough to post where you bought yours, price, and how the service was? (shipping, condition of engine, etc). Thanks a lot in advance. all i need now is a place for the install and i'm good to go.

well, here are a few contacts of some J-spec suppliers....i believe i'v posted this b4, but i'm not 100% sure, so here it is again

--------------------------
Big Japanese Auto
416-744-1617
20 Milvan Dr, Unit 8

there's also

Best Japanese Auto
416-631-8359
4473 Chesswood Dr

which are both in toronto, but out in pickering there's

United Motion Supply ltd
905-426-4348
1895 Clements Rd, unit 113

but i don't think they have much for ours, but can't hurt to ask. and one out in mississauga that i just found out about is

Engine Land Japanese Auto
905-672-3001
7050 bramalea rd, unit 3
------------------

Now i personally got mine from Tiger Japan in scarborough...and i'll just say b warned. they either don't know the diff between DE and ZE, or they intentionally scam ppl. please read up on how to identify a ZE in this forum (use the search function) or at least go to get the engine w/ someone who knows the diff.
also, are you installing it yourself, or wanting the shop to do it?

thanks for the reply. I'll most definatly be getting a shop to install it. That was going to be next task after I find an engine.

Nice work Ian.
BTW, I think this is the second or 3rd time Ian has posted a similar list to this within the last year. You'll also find feedback from Ian, myself and a few others on our encounters with suppliers from the GTA area as well as those with suppliers in Montreal. So the info is there, well explained as far as service, satisfaction, quality of items purchased etc. Success with your ZE hunt.

Tiger Japanese is probobly your best bet. Really well known place and will probobly give you a good price. Bring cash with youa nd offer them a bit less than what they area sking

But...
as Ian said they have scamed people. but if you go there and look at them and know the head codes and manifolds and what to look for you are fine. I do personally know about 3 or 4 people who have all bauightz e's from them without a problem But make sure you know what your looking for. Don't justa sk for a klze.

Theres also http://www.teknotik.com ....another very well know place.
