Can i make it louder?

I have a 96 GS 1.8 V6 with a cone filter and DTM Muffler, but i find that the car is only loud at low RPMs and not high RPMs. Ive heard lots of cars get louder as they punch it at high RPMs. How can i make mine bark loud at higher RPMs??

remove the kat converter.. wont pass emissions.. headers make it sound raspy if u like that sound. Mine... its not loud if i dont floor it so i like it and its loud if i floor it which its nice.

Mine is louder in teh lower rpm's but once the VRIS opens then its loud. It may be different since I have a ZE curve neck. but still with a K8 it should bark too

get headers, free flow cat and cat back and it will be sick.

How much louder will it be by removing the cat, and how much more will it smoke?

It will be a bit louder with no cat. But will not pass an e test and watch you don't get pulled over. Theres a ticket worth $380 for no cat.

Bit louder with no cat? lol, it's stupidly loud, ask a few of the toronto Mx-3 members that have heard it. It's so disgustingly loud i can't have a conversation while i was on the highway, couldn't barely hear my music. the car literally sounded like a race car when you punched it, so that sounded cool, but that novelty wore off after a week. At night i would try to take it easy, and i could still be heard a dozen blocks away. I did get a ticket for it the week i was brining it in to get fixed. just my luck, cause the test pipe was just a quick temporary fix for the Ottawa trip.

Oh, and a no cat fine is around $500

Ya i can hear mine too if i punch it, but im thinking i might take off my cat and put a pipe inside so that it looks like i have a cat but i really dont.

When I put the cone in just with the factory intake hose it sounded louder....but then when I put in the thin 16 GA. aluminum pipe in it sounded much nicer and a bit louder.

FYI... we're in canada.. there is no emissions (far as i know)

only inspection which requires a cat be on.. (doesn't matter if there's a pipe right through it..) Also.. if you make it louder, put a resonator on it...

don't use a muffler at all just get a tip and she will be plenty loud but after a while u won't like it.

Loud exhaust might sound like a good idea now, but trust me it gets old.....real fast. Leave that for the guys with the riced out civics.

I am running ss headers and 2.5 mandrel bent high flow cat and magnaflow muffler. You can hear me for a good 2 to 3 blocks before you see me. =) I seen that the headers made the diggest sound differents out of everything and low and high RPM it is loud.
