Car Ideas For The Nebie!
What's up everyone, i'm a new member to the mx-west club and have been super impressed with how involved everyone is here. I have a few questions open to everyone and was wanting some feedback. i'm a newbie with cars so go easy on me! any ideas on work under the hood? i was wanting to throw in some more speed to put it to race standards and was looking at total cost, install and all, for a new klze engine swap. I can't post this in the v6 forum so hopefully this is okay? also i wanted some ideas for a new ECU if its even necessary and suspension ideas. basically i want to overhaul my car and am curious to a price? thanks guys and girls for the input

well i did a klze swap, motor cost me 1400, kl36 ecu 400, new water pump and timing belt came to 500ish, installed the motor with a friend so i didnt have to worry about labour, new fluids in everything, motor flush, new plugs and wires. in total about 3000 for the swap. there are lots of things to change, its all going to come down to what you expect to do and how much money/time you have. in the last four years i probably have spent around 12,000 on top of the price of the car and i am no where near what i want done to the car, i spent over 4000 this summer and my car is no different from last year when i parked it. the quick easy/cheap upgrades i did first were front/rear strut tower bars, lowered suspension, new struts, new brakes, cai, exhaust. i like to alternate performance and apperance parts when i work on it, keeps the car a bit in both worlds. anyways about your car, km's, year, auto etc. where are you loacted, there might be some one around who can help you out.

Well im in Calgary, AB. car has got 210Km on it so quite a bit. standard trany, it's a 94 mx3. right now it just has the stock v6 1.8L. i have some money to play with and im pretty sure i want the KLZE. unless anyone knows of a better bang for my buck. but i am not at all mechanicly inclined. family traight we're all retarded with cars. so i defenetly need a hand in either picking up an engine or doing the work because im sure a shop would charge me up the a-- for a swap. if anyone can help out in the next.....3 months or so that is in the area that would be killer.
