where is my coolant temp sensor ? uk model

Post by scotland_mx3 »

hi , this is my first post so hi to all, am looking for my coolant temp sensor to try to sort out my erratic idle problem , car is a 1992 mx3 1.6 16v auto , its not in the same place as shown in the online manual or in my mazda electronic parts catalogue, only thing i can see that looks like it is a sensor coming directly out of the thermostat housing, it has a plastic connector on the end and a palstic block connector going over it , it only has one wire coming out it though and the posts i have been reading suggest it should have two ? only one i can find with more than one wire is near the injector rail on opposite side of engine from thermostat, its a green connector , dont think its coolant related. any advice offered is much appreciated.

thanks in advance.

The online manual is for B6 DOHC & K8 - you probably have a SOHC model. The CTS for SOHC is located somewhere close to the 1st and 2nd injector.

thanks for the reply , there is a sensor near the 1st & 2nd injectors so that must be the one. it has a green plastic connector on it.
